Oops! I totally forgot to write a 17 month post about Little Miss...eek! Life just goes by so fast I suppose.
So this past month and a half, she has continued to be our spirited child. She has such a personality and I wouldn't change it for anything. Although it can make parenting a challenge at times. As I write these "new" things that she is doing/saying, I often forget if she had already done this in a month prior, so forgive me if I repeat =)
At 17.5 months Mady...
-LOVES going to the splash pad. She doesn't care if the water is ice cold or her lips are turning blue because she's so cold. She doesn't ever want to leave. She doesn't mind the water in her face and squeals with delight when running her cute petite tushy around right next to all the big kids. I don't think she realizes that she's still a baby...err toddler. This place is definitely a favorite this summer. Since she is still little, this has meant that Mommy gets just as wet as Mads, but I wouldn't have it any other way =)
-had a slight regression in sleeping habits the first week and a half of break. Thankfully it is getting better now and she realizes that Mommy hasn't left her even if the door is closed.
-had her first true allergic reaction to food--hummus! I thought that it would be fine since she had had most foods before, but there must have been something in the garlic artichoke hummus that caused her face to get splotchy and swell. Thank goodness for Benedryl!
-loves to say, "Hi Baby!" in a high pitched voice whenever she sees another baby. She is incredibly social and is always watching others and trying to get their attention. She's a ham!
-has learned how to smile for the camera. It's about time!! We get a pretty cheesy/awkward smile when we say, "smile", but we'll take it! Too cute!
-says/identifies ears, nose, mouth, teeth, hair. and feet. She also loves to "honk" others' noses.
-learned how to climb on the couch, chair, and....coffee table! Yikes! This girl loves to climb!
-rides in a bike trailer we got for Mommy's birthday. She even has a little helmet (that she hates)!
-has two favorite songs--Itsy Bitsy Spider and If You're Happy and You Know It. She even knows all the motions and gets pretty upset when the song is over. She loves her music!
-knows how to turn on the radio on the alarm clock and dances...hilarious!
-loves to put blankets over her head and run around and giggle. That sound is so precious and I treasure every minute of hearing these!
-loves purses!
-has shortened her "Bye, Bye, See you later" into just a "see you" or "later"
I am enjoying every minute of this summer with our little toddler. It can be exhausting, but I love it!
